Spirit is a moderate dog with correct structure and a solid topline. He stays in condition easily and always carries good muscle mass. He is medium gold with a very low maintenance coat and good furnishings for his age. His headpiece is beautiful. He weighs 76 pounds and stands 23 ½ inches. His movement is clean coming and going and he enjoys being a show dog. Spirit's temperament is always good around other dogs. He is easy going, very obedient and dependable. Spirit's first weekend out in the 6-9 Puppy Class he took Winners Dog and Best of Winners for the points, beating the open dog and the open bitch for BOW. In March 05 at Hudson Valley Golden Retriever Specialty he won BOSS. Spirit has accomplished a lot for a young dog. He earned his WC at 7 months old. He earned his Junior Hunter title on 9/23/06 at just over 12 months old - amateur owner trained by Laura. Spirit completed his bench championship at just 20 months of age - winning WD at both the Potomac Valley Golden Retriever Specialty and the Lenape Golden Retriever Specialty. He has won Best of Breed twice at all breed shows and made the cut in the Group both times. Spirit just finished his Senior Hunter title on 11/18/06 and his WCX the following weekend 11/24/06 and he is only 27 months old! He is proudly owned by Frances A Smith, Betty Whaley, and Laura Wienmann. He resides with Laura who does all his field training and conditioning. Spirit's rigourous field training played a big part in his outstanding physical and mental conditioning to achieve his success in the ring and in the field. Laura's next goals for Spirit are his Master Hunter and maybe some obedience titles are in his future also.
